Ikea Heights - Episode 4
We knew that we couldn’t spend all day playing around in Ikea without them catching on, so we tried to rehearse across the street and shoot the bulk of the episode in one shot. I think it turned out pretty well.
Ikea Heights is a melodrama shot entirely in the Burbank California Ikea Furniture Store without the store’s knowledge. It is produced for...

I believe in Steve.

This has been (and continues to be) the most draining week of shooting I’ve ever had. I feel like I’m heading for a nervous breakdown. I had horrible nightmares last night. I’m afraid to go to sleep tonight. The episode we’re shooting means a lot to our director (one of my best friends) and I don’t want to be hated if I can’t deliver. P.S. yes, I’m talking about a show that deals...
Radio Interview Tonight at 10:00 Pacific! →
This was maybe the most fun interview ever. Also, it’ll be podcasted if you can’t listen in tonight.
Thanks!
Matt
i’ve been bicoastal for YEAAAAAAAARS now…
– snotty lady at LaMill (is there any other kind of lady at LaMill?) (via erniwalker)
Ha! This is great. Also, stop going to LaMill without me. I love their iced coffee and weirdo dragonskin chairs.
I will probably always be a dope.
Today I did a radio show called Comedy Death Ray Radio with Scott Aukerman, Matt Walsh, and Thomas Lennon. I’m not name dropping, this is context. Scott told me to come on and do some of my favorite bits, as most people listening in might not have ever seen me (they have a really wide fan base). I went on, did the bits, then said “Was that okay?” I said it after Scott said...
For the love of dogs! →
It’s a charity event for a dog rescue group and the food is entirely vegetarian. Happy?
This should be fun. Also, if you’ve got $200 burning a hole in your pocket, come on out! You know you do. No, not you. YOU.
Comedy is Dead is tonight! →
Duncan Trussell puts together a mean show for this every month, and it’s in a cemetery! Booze is served, fun is gained, good times are enjoyed. The other two times I was supposed to do it got blocked by me being out of town or some other BS, so I’m really excited to do this tonight.
See you there!

I hate to dump on things on the internet, because it’s done so often and it’s so easy. However, the resurgence of swing dancing drove me nuts in a bad way. The amount of drunk people I saw almost kill themselves trying out their newly learned moves with a belly full of scotch was legion. Also, the generally smarmy-ness was awful. It was a terrible time in America’s history.
Now...
Recent surreality.
Here are some things:
- I got a turntable from my parents for my birthday. On Saturday I went vinyl shopping, spent $25 and got six records. Listening to “After Hours with Sarah Vaughan” while staring into space is my new thing. Also, The Cars’ “Heartbreak City” before I go out.
- Today I taped two episodes of “The United States of Tara.” Most surreal...

Wow! I hope this is as good as it looks weird.
I know I'm late to the party on this one, but...

Oh em gee.
Yeah. I second this.
If You're Going to F at the Movies....
Don’t do it at “The Hurt Locker.” It’s a really quiet movie. I mean, yeah, there’s gunshots and explosions, but other than that it’s quiet tension throughout. And though you and your partner are remarkably quiet (seriously, I was actually impressed), the little bobbing man-ass occasionally catching the light of the screen was distracting. I haven’t pushed...
This'll only be up until next Thursday.... →
But I wrote something for this week’s LA Weekly. I’m also on the cover in drag.
Eric Appel made this for Funnyordie with me in it. It’s on the front page! I mean, you can’t tell it’s me, but I swear it is. I swear! Enjoy.
Hahahaha! Yeah! Angels Vs. Devils movies always make me smile. Kind of a guilty pleasure, I guess. Maybe it’s the Catholic upbringing. If you can put aside the whole, “Wait, so the Bible is true? Literally?” thing, you can have fun. Side note: I’d love for someone to make an Angels Vs. Devils movie based on something in the Torah or the Koran. Mix it up, human beings!
Man,...
